Bamboo Door Curtains – What You Should Know Before Buying
If you are looking for a unique way to spice up your interior, opting for bamboo door curtains might be the thing for you. Unlike tradtional door curtains, the bamboo ones are not a way to cover your door, but are supposed to be hung in the doorway replacing regular doors. While certainly not suitable for all interiors, some living spaces can certainly benefit from them.
Bamboo door curtains are made of bamboo beads strung together with wire. A typical number of strands for standard doorway sizes varies between 90 and 140. Generally, a higher number of strands is better, especially if you want a print or picture painted on your curtains. Keep in mind, that bamboo curtains do not offer as much privacy or safety as regular doors, nor can they be called soundproof, so they should not be installed in places where complete privacy is needed. However, if privacy is not a primary concern, bamboo bead curtains can be an interesting choice.
A great thing about this type of curtains is that they can have a print or a picture on them. Apart from the stock variety, there are companies that offer custom painted bamboo door curtains. The process of painting the curtains is very time consuming and requires a lot of patience and skill from the artist, as each strand has to be worked on one at a time. The result, however, is often beautiful and highly realistic, and what is even better, the picture can actually be seen from both sides.
A thing to keep in mind is that you will be able to see through the curtains whenever there is light behind them. That’s why bamboo door curtains are not recommended if complete privacy is what you are after. There is no way to avoid this, even with a higher number of strands used.
